Default slow smooth acceleration at full throttle

Why is my 88 vette quicker at 3/4 throttle? It bogs down at full throttle and then accelerates at a slow steady pace. If I start at 3/4 throttle and then floor it after I get rolling it is quicker. Lots quicker. Is it my TV cable?

Improperly adjusted TPS is a possibility. Best to get your FSM and follow the troubleshooting charts to see where you stand.

Clogged converters can do that inside the exhaust...but the basics I would check first is timing,TPS as mentioned,fuel pressure,etc.

it has a new car sound convertor. I have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator set at 40lbs. I messed with that and 40lbs seems to work best. I hate to sound stupid but what is the tpi?

I found it TPS is a throttle position sensor. I will check it out and THANKS!

Why is the timing set at 11 degrees before top dead center? The factory spec is 6 degrees BTDC and some run it to 8 and maybe 10. I have acquired a scan tool and now realize why the factory suggests 6 degrees timing advance. I recommend going back to "6" on the timing and set the tps to .54 volts.

Start with the basics covered and everything set back to stock. When you have that set than you can make changes but like Sam says without a scan tool you'll be making changes without knowing the effects of those changes.
