Default how hard? dist. wiring?

The wires to my dist. are looking pretty bad. I have had alot of running problems that are created by this bad wiring.

What I am wondering is how hard is it to replace just the wiring coming to and from the dist. (tach/batt and others)
And do they sell that specific wiring somwhere?

I havent been driving the car lately because it will die on my any second due to the bad connection. I have fixed one of the connections about a week ago but the wiring is just falling apart.

One other question, would the ignition switch wire (white wire) cause a miss if the connection is bad? Thats what seems to be happening here. I just wanna be sure im not bumping some other wire and that be making a difference in when it runs properly or not.
Thank you for any help.

The larger, pink, wire that plugs into the "BAT" connection on the side of the distributor cap is powered directly by the ignition switch. The smaller, white, wire, plugs into the cap terminal marked "TACH" and goes to the tach filter.

The wires in/on the distributor are called terminal blocks and are available from GM. (The ones going into the distributor)

If that pink wire has a bad connection could it cause a miss? This is what it seems like in this case, but in my mind this doesnt seem to make sense, but then again I dont totally understand the whole electrical system.

It would have to be a very quick disconnection and reconnection in order to act like a miss. Picture switching your ignition on and off. That would be exactly the same thing.

You said you had the white wire going to the ignition switch.

RACE ON!!!
