Rear Question
Can anyone tell what kinda rear I have in my 1996 coupe automatic?
I havent had the chance in looking at my RPO codes cause Im in NJ my car is in WA. Im on leave and its bugging me.

The way I understand it D36 is Auto trans and D44 is Manual trans. I also think that 3 different ratio's where available for auto's 2.56 2.7? and a 3.08.
But I am sure someone will know for sure.

DANA 36 if its original, came with all 84s and all 85-96 automatics. 2.59:1, 2.73:1, 3.07:1 and 3.31:1 were the ratios used in them by the factory over the full 84-96 production run. 96 will either be a 3.07 or a 2.59, as far as i know they didnt have a 2.73 in 96. 3.31:1 was only in 84s.
You can also get 3.54:1 and 3.73:1 for the DANA 36s (im not sure of any others)

Do you mean Townsville? As in on the north-east coast in the state of Queensland? I live down south of there if that is where you mean. Next time youre over this way make sure you drop in mate!!

Sorry yeah thats what I mean got confused and all. I just got back from deployment. I should be back next year in Sept-Dec time frame. If I get the time Ill let you know.
