Default Heater and AC Controls

My heater and AC control does not always work. What do I need to do to remove the control from the dash to check contact points. Any other thoughts on how to check out the control unit?

On my '95, I took the advice of a brother who had a '92. He recommended I spray the buttons with WD-40. I did, but the problem of bad contacts persisted. I then gently manipulated the buttons, in this case the "off" button, and got it to work again. I think the car sat for too long on Long Island, which has a lot of humidity, and this causes problems. I'm in N.C. where the weather is milder, still some humidity. I'm hoping not to have to pop the control unit out of the vehicle. So far, so good, and there are instructions for doing just that on this forum.

I tnink there is a method in the technical section. Do a search. I think it tells you how to remove the facing and get to the contacts.

See climate control button repair in the c-4 general section. It's a great how-to.
