Default Brake Suggestions?

Hi, I am new to this and looking for some opinions on which rotors and pads I should be looking at for my Vette. I have a stock 1991 C4, that could use pads but wanted to upgrade to slotted rotors. Does anyone have some tried and true suggestions?

Thanks in advance.
Tony

Why slotted rotors? Are you going to do some track time, if not & this is just a daily driver ther is nothing wrong w/ stock rotors. Get some good pads, like carbon metalic, or something. The only prob. w/ this type is they have to warm up to work good. Just my 2 cents. Donf

Slotted rotors are nice they do help ventilate gases that can build up between the rotor and the pads. However many performance brake pads have a center slott in them reducing the need for slotted rotors. We feel that the longest lasting most durable rotor is a plain faced rotor. If you wanted slotting for looks it would not harm your system at all. As far as brakes go there a few good ones out their depending on your price range and your feelings on Dust, Squeal, and friction level. Some street pads offer less and some more. If you can give a 1,2,3 order to these we can set you up with a pad that you will be happy with. I don't believe in your post it said if you were looking for race pads or street pads I am assuming street at this point if I am incorrect let me know and I will give the break down from that side.

A carbon metalic race type pad would be bad for street use.

Guys, Thanks for all the input. I am only going to road drive the car. I wanted slot rotors to reduce heat and to increase the life of both the pads and rotors, I tend to wear breaks out pretty good.

Hope that clarifies !!

Get break ducts to remove heat. If your wearing break parts out a lot, remember to change the fluid often.
