Parts will run you up to $4000 and installation can be just about anything. Most guys I've talked to that have a blower ended up spending about 7-10k when they were done (excellent installations of course.... including one watercooled :D, which was bad ****!)
Most that I see are putting around 500hp to the wheels (with other small modifications done at the same time as the supercharger.)
Including the cost of the rebuild 6 months down the line? ;) Seriously, you might want to pursue the heads/cam/intake route. It's generally safer and more bang for the buck.
I think he's trying to say, on a stock engine, you don't want to go right away with a blower... you'll want to do other things first, especially better pistons and cam.
If you decide to do a supercharger eventually but want to do cams and heads first, make sure you watch your compression. Too much and you won't be able to boost much at all. Just make sure you have everything thought through then pursue it. It's cheaper to make an overall outilne of your car now then find out 5 months down the road that you bought the wrong part and lose money and time trying to sell it, or even worse, break something.
