This is what holley recommends on there kits: WARNING: DO NOT use aftermarket chips or other devices that advance ignition timing, as detonation may occur.

What he said...

You also don't need any additional mods to run nitrous on any vehicle. Just don't go all out and dump a 500hp fogger system on a stock motor. A stock motor can handle a little (maybe a 100 shot) more umph on short bursts. Anything more and you'll need forged internals that are damn near bullet proof

Where do you get these botles filled? And what does a refill cost?

Well typically you'd take them to a local performance shop that services nitrous... but there are some of us who prefer to break into a dentists office after hours and steal the free supply

No need to toss it. Keep it or sell it to a member. If you ever stop using the NOS, then you can always reinstall it. With NOS your exceeding far beyond what your chip could ever do. So your not going backwards, but see it as one large leap far forward. You'll love the NOS.

If memory serves me (and please forgive me it's been a while since I investigated TPI tuning) but you can have the chip reburned for nitrous tuning.

I usually pay $42 at a local performance shop. I believe mine is a 10lb bottle.

don't forget that the dentist has "the good stuff" (medical grade), that the driver can benefit from when the bottle's too empty to use in the car (not that I have any experience or anything like that!

I have been wondering if mine is medical grade. I keep forgetting to ask the shop. It has no smell at all. I have heard that it is better to use. On the car of course. Something about it being safer for the car or cleaner.

Only licensed medical professionals can get medical grade nitrous here in Florida, so I can't comment on your state on the availability/legality of it.
That being said, there's no difference in using medical grade over using automotive grade (with sulphur dioxide added).

there is no need to get rid of your hypertech. just install a timing retard box and pull a few degrees of timing out. hook it to your activation switch and it will come on only when nos is on. a window switch is always a good investment also.
