I want to learn how to program my eprom for power. I have a FastChip eprom, but want to make adjustments for the modifications on my vehicle and how it runs. I know many of you have the hardware and software. I want to buy the correct equipment, software and get the correct bin files for my 93 LT1 vette so I can modify accordingly. I have a regular eprom programmer for my computer which will burn 272c28 eproms but not the type for an automobile. I have used editing software for years but only for specific programs.
What hardware, software and files are you guys using? I have been to TunerCat's website and read all the links but would rather keep it simple by using something that is proven and works for the guys in this forum.
Any help is appreciated?
By the way, how do you put images, flags, pictures of your car etc. when you post? :chevy :flag
I use TunerCat for my LT1. It works very well. There are several other programs out there and I have heard that they have some tables that tuner cat does not.
Your programmer should be able to burn eproms for your vettes ECM.
Go to http://www.thirdgen.org, they have a forum for prom burning and a tech article on it as well.
The fastchip I bought for my 93 was a totally different type of eeprom, so I didn't think it would work. The changes that you make with your burner are they more effective than the standard chips like Hypertech and Fastchip? :flag :flag
I've been using TunerCat and a Needham EMP-10 on mine for quite a while with no problems at all - in fact I think TC is great stuff.
You will also need diagnostic software and a laptop in order to be able to view and evaluate the results of your tuning - I have had Diacom for years, couldn't live without it.
There is a bin in your car already - you can either start from that, or the library at DIY-EFI.
