Fx3 Suspension Actuators
So my front right fx3 actuator is out for one reason or another. The SRC light is on, and i really feel that I should replace the actuator. But recently I found a link to this person, http://www.captainzcnc.com/ and i was just wondering
1. Is there any diffrence beween the front and rear actuators
2. Cheapest Place to buy them
3. Should I have it rebuilt or buy new/used in working condition
So if anyone has went through this before help me out, thnaks
the only difference in the front and rear actuators is that the cable is longer... other than that there is nothing. if yours were like mine three of the four were completely busted. the plastic gears in the actuators was torn apart, and the adjusters on top of the shocks were broke.. if you can afford about 300.00 per actuator the repair is easy, probably take 2hours most, even for somone that has never seen a wrench in their life. good luck!
Sometimes you can find actuators on eBay or you might start a WTB thread in the C4 PArts For Sale section.
I don't remember if the the company in the link is the same one who initially offered rebuilt actuatiors here on the Forum a couple years ago but it certainly beats buying new ones!
Did you check the codes for the FX3 system and determine the problem is specifically the actuator and which one it is? There are 13 separate codes for the FX3 system and 2 codes for each shock assembly. Each code value is unique and points to a specific problem with a specific shock, actuator, the console switch, or simply a loss of signal.
