I have had sucess in the past going to corvette salvage yards all over the Southern U.S. As a kid my brother and I did lots of traveling with my parents as they did there work (arts and crafts). We would go in the salvage yards and find parts needed. They came pretty cheap in certain places. Recently I have purchase a few items from forum member (scarabexc). He had the fuel filter forward fuel lines I needed for $60 shipped where as just about every place I called wanted anywhere from $75 for one line to $250 for both, if they had them at all. I live about 20 miles from Dino's Corvette Salvage and haven't purchased anything because of high price. I've been around C4 Corvettes long enough to know what certain items should cost. Sometimes you get desperate and sometimes you don't.

Hehe, Got the western United States largest salvage yard, not 10 miles away from me. well over 12,000 cars (No Vettes) just up the road another 2 miles, is another big one. I watched these guy's get started, I remember when all they had was 5 or 6 cars. You just walk in, and tell them you are going to go look around for some parts, and will be back. I look around awhile (like a kid in a candy store) find some stuff I could use, take back to the owners shack, and ask for a price, he usually say's, "ah, don't worry about it", I have my hands full of cooling fans, relays, wiring, bolts, and nuts... If I had a week to go through the yard 12 hours a day. I would only see 1/8 of it. I tell my wife when I'm headed over there, "It's time for another safari"...

EDIT: Never heard of paying an entrance fee... Thats a new one on me...
