I need to find out if the wire harness that runs to the digital dash is the same for a 1985 to 1987. Is there any difference at all, or are they exactly the same? I do not have a FSM so I’m hoping someone can help me out. Thank you.
I believe they are exactly the same
You should contact one of the people who fixes them
They should be able to tell you easily
I forgot who did the one on my 86 but I believe I found him here
I don't know the answer but when I had my dash(85 A4) rebuilt I was sent a dash from an 86 Mwhatever or so I was told. It worked but with issues loie a light flashing telling me to shift gears ???. Swapped it for a genuine 85 and it has worked ever since. I thinlk what I am saying is that there is no universal swapping.
my 86 digi dash had the ''shift'' alarm...poor thing didn't have a clue of when to shift...annoying at best...glad its gone.
can anyone put up the page from the 85 FSM that illustrates ''A: cluster connector pinout test'' .....similar to page 8A-82-10 in the 87 FSM (thanx vinnie) but will prolly be a couple pages earlier in the 85 FSM...
