I like the look and I especially like the weight reduction. If you are interested in buying a set I am also interested in buying so send me a PM and maybe we can get enough others to jump on board that maybe they would cut us a slightly better deal.

I thought about that kit for awhile. Then when I was surfing one day I came across a wild headlight conversion. And when the motor is in I need to upgrade the brakes. But after that this conversion is next. It is not a bolt in setup. A total custom job of putting the headlights from a Fiat Coupe in. You need to one off fab all the stuff, but a competent body shop can pull it off. You may ask "why bother with all that work?" Take a look for yourself, it's SWEEEET.

The Breathless kit is nice, but the pic above shows something with a little more style.

Before I knew about the Breathless kit(and I've known Ernie from BPP for a long time) I thought about how hard it would be to do my own.

Buy a carbon fiber kit from Eastwood to make the headlight buckets, Lexan for the covers and some decent lights.
The hardest part would be correct wiring.

Default Other options

Another poster about a year back commented on one of my weight reduction threads with an idea that may interest some of you. He shared with me that a friend of his removed the pop up headlights entirely. He then replaced the lower factory bumper lights with Grand Prix lights in the lower portion of the bumper. He claimed it looked pretty clean and it saved more than 30 lbs of weight. I actually like this idea much more than the Breathless setup but it is certainly not going to be a bolt in setup like the breathless. It is a creative alternative...I just wish I had some photos of it.

The square light in the Breathless setup kills me. If it was any other shape I'd like it more. Why couldnt it have been 2 circles ?

I have to check out those Grand Prix lights, did he happen to mention what year? That may be a considderation. I really wanted to do HID lighting including the fogs. That made me think about completely removing the stock fog/turn indicator setup and installing a set of HID fogs and an small LED turn indicator. Then I was going to make a metal frame the same size as the original fog/turn light and cover it with the same mesh used on the Z06's grills with a cutout for the HID fogs. I would design it to bolt up to the same spot as the stock setup. I could actually just fab it up on a bench by doing it side by side to check measurements.
It's a long process including the Fiat light conversion but I really like making my car just a little different than every other Vette while still being tasteful.

The Breathless performance headlight conversion is very expensive. I dunno if the plastic is high quality or not. I'd do it but someone has to convince me that its worth that much first and that I'm not gonna be getting garbage...

I like the Breathless Kit, don't get me wrong, but if it were 1/3rd the price, they'd be on both of my cars right now.

Their C5 kit is a little nicer. I think if the lexan covers weren't so flat, it may look better.

I forget who the other vendor is that makes nonpopups, it may be C5 West I think.
