Default 84 Exhaust

My stock 84 is in need of a pair of new mufflers. I've been considering
KBD Targa Mufflers (eliminators). Any ideas/opinions are welcome.

Have a muffler shop simply cut the old mufflers off and bend some straight pipe to replace them. The cats do a fair amount of silencing so you will have a nice low rumble at idle and suprisingly not a lot of noise at cruise speed. WOT will give a nice sound!

Any decent shop can bend the pipe and weld them in for about $50. Add the tips of your choice for extra money.

Flowmaster Delta 50s are a great muffler for a little idle rumble and a good WOT tone with almost no resonance. They resonate less than my stock 84 mufflers, but they do have that good old Flowmaster tone, just a little quieter.

If you can afford it Borlas are nice. Personally I never really cared for the sound of flowmaster's.

On my 84 I had the MAM stainless true dual exhaust (no cats or crossover) feeding into a pair of Flowmasters with 4" Megs Soundtips on it. If you want loud, as in shake your windows loud, it gives a great deep bass sound at idle and a raspy roar at WOT. I promise you will never sneak up on anybody ever again.
