Im looking for a little rumble,,, a lot of rumble..
Have a muffler shop simply cut the old mufflers off and bend some straight pipe to replace them. The cats do a fair amount of silencing so you will have a nice low rumble at idle and suprisingly not a lot of noise at cruise speed. WOT will give a nice sound!
Any decent shop can bend the pipe and weld them in for about $50. Add the tips of your choice for extra money.
Flowmaster Delta 50s are a great muffler for a little idle rumble and a good WOT tone with almost no resonance. They resonate less than my stock 84 mufflers, but they do have that good old Flowmaster tone, just a little quieter.
I have flowmaster mufflers on my 1984 (thats what was on it when I purschased it). Im not sure what model they are but the are very rumbly and loud when you get on it. Are these mufflers marked as to models?

On my 84 I had the MAM stainless true dual exhaust (no cats or crossover) feeding into a pair of Flowmasters with 4" Megs Soundtips on it. If you want loud, as in shake your windows loud, it gives a great deep bass sound at idle and a raspy roar at WOT. I promise you will never sneak up on anybody ever again.
