I am considering purchasing Auto X-Ray ($449.00) The way I understand it will work on ford, dodge, and gm. Is there something better to buy? I dont have a laptop, but im not ruling out buying one. I do like being able to use it on other cars besides GM. This is all new to me, so any input would be appreciated.
you can get the ezlink for just about than $200 and you will need a cable $45.
I got mine from "John Flagg" <gmppartsco@yahoo.com> try his email.
good luck
BTW the EZLink is OBDII but works good on any OBDI / II from 1980 on ...
auto x-ray ez link is the same scanner. just not in the kit. it comes with the generic OBDII cable which is good for any thing 96 or newer. for your car you will need to buy a cable and they run $45. my 94 is OBDI with a OBDII connector and it required a special GM cable. the auto x-ray is a handy tool to have. i recommend it.
Muskrat,
Thanks for the link. They have the kit for $399. also Summit has it for this price. They say you can hook the scan tool up to a computer and down load to excel etc. Does anyone know what the advantage would be to use something like Diacom etc. Also, assuming I had a laptop and used a program through it, are they restriced to GM only? I do like the feature of being able to use the Auto X-Ray on other brands as well.
