My 84 was shipped to me without the headlight covers attached as the last owner put special bulbs in them. I have the covers but cannot figure out how you get the two back screws in the covers. Is their some kind of magic trick to all this??

spin the ***** beside them... im not sure what way, but it will spin easy and take a lot of spinning to get them to a point where you can work with them. good luck
The headlights can be stopped in the half open position by quickly bringing the on / off switch to the parking light position while the lights are going up. It takes a few tries but it's easy once you get the hang of it. Just pull the switch full out and when the lights get to the half open position push in to the parking light position which freezes them half open. Once you are done with whatever your'e fixing, just push the switch in and they go full closed. The parking lights do stay on so if your'e performing major surgery, disconnect the battery.
