Gas Pedal Bracket Upgrade
I've long planned to do and thought that some of the
newer members or procrastinators might be interested.
The OEM gas pedal mounting bracket that attaches and
acts as a pivot for the gas pedal rod is made of a
molded plastic material. The bracket is prone to breaking
under severe use or as it ages. When it breaks, the
gas pedal no longer opens the throttle and you find
yourself in an inconvenient situation.
Forum sponsor R-D Racing used to offer a billet aluminum
replacement bracket that is widely regarded as the ideal
fix for a broken OEM bracket. After checking for the
bracket on on R-D's site I could see all the other great
products they carry but not the bracket. When I happened
to notice that some of these brackes are still available
from the original designer, vettmike, I contacted him to
place an order.
I'll PM Billie to ask comment whether the bracket is still
available through R-D Racing. If they are, then get one
along with your Camber-Brace, Cross-Brace, Cross-Frame
or other fine R-D product.
No matter who it comes from, this billet gas pedal bracket is
a nice item for a great price. Quick shipping, too.

a look at.
And anyone interested in the gas pedal bracket can still get
these from the designer.
I'm glad I was able to get one for myself.
.
look up the p/n(s?) through the years to see if there were any
apparent differences.
If anyone here knows, please jump in.

The instruction sheet I got with my billet pedal support mentioned 3 different suport designs through the C4 years 84-E86, late-86 thru E-92, and L-92 on.
The support piece sold by R-D Racing was a design to handle all of the C4's. What is different about this piece is how the pedal crank mounts to it. A special pin is provided to mount the pedal crank to the mount.
The instructions provided with the R-D Racing piece totals 5 pages but it also came with 12 pages of big pics!
Whoever did the work doing the design and the instructions deserves a Corvette Medal of Honor and all the beer he can drink
