It doesn't matter. Get rid of it and put real antifreeze in.
This is always an ongoing debate on what to use, Dex-Cool or green antifreeze. A big marketing tool was that Dex-Cool could go longer between service intervals and was I think to be silicate free along with being more compatable with the engine alloys.
Dexcool was used in 95-96 C4 Corvettes. It's in my 95. Someone in a different thread stated HIS came from the factory with the green antifreeze. Don't know if that is true or not. Why would they make two different owners manuals stating what type of coolant to put in.

Well is Sexcool is so good, why did GM start using it on other vehicles too? Is it because of the fact that its just silicate free? Id it less corrosive to iron and aluminum? Does this coolant eventually turn acidic like the green coolant does? There's gotta be a reason GM did it...

I've explained this numerous times and even created a post on the subject after speaking at length with a technical rep for a company that makes the additive packages to order for various vehicle and engine manufacturers. Regardless of color (that's part of the package) all of these extended life coolants are basically the same. Long story short, he won't use them in his vehicles either. No one seemed particularly interested when I created that lengthy post so f*** it.
I've been running Dexcool for over 70000 miles in my 1996. It has 120000 miles and they are trouble free, at least when it comes to the coolant. I have read about mixing problems but I don't mix coolants.
Guess I will continue to use Dex until there is a problem.

Simmer down. What's the link to the thread?
There was some discussion a while ago stating that all of the extended life antifreezes are similar to Dex-Cool. This raises two interesting topics.
(1) It is now rather difficult to find "regular" green antifreeze. Just about every coolent sold now proports extended life (100K - 150K miles). Since we've all "switched" or steered clear of the orange colored coolents, have we really done ourselves any favors here? I dunno.
(2) If the extended life green coolent is Dex-Cool by a different color, then why haven't a ton of us had the problems that Dex-Cooled owners have? NB: Most problems occur when the orange and green coolents are mixed, but now does that really matter with extended life green coolents?
