Question -Replacing Brake Pads on 86
Just purchased new Hawk HPS brake pads for my 86, I've removed the old front pads (GM pads), after comparing the old pads with the new Hawk pads, I noticed that the Hawk inboard pads do not have springs installed on them (outboard pads have springs installed). My question is, whats the purpose of those springs, and should I be concerned?

I'm no expert by any means, but I believe the springs are there to: 1. ensure pad contact with the rotor and, 2. minimize the caliper travel distance during braking. I may be wrong, but that is what my intuition is telling me.
