Hello all: I'd appreciate any suggestion or tips to resolve this problem:
My 88 has a power seat on the driver's side. Both of the 2 way power seat switches have stopped working when pushed down. However, they function correctly in the up position.
I'm not sure how to test continuity of each switch given they have 6 pins each and I'm a computer programmer, not an electrical engineer.
Thanks for replying.....Actually I solved the problem and you won't believe the cause. I figured I had nothing to lose, so I tore the switches apart and I cleaned out at least a teaspoon full of dead ants. The previous owner must have spilled some soda into them!!!! I have been fixing his mistakes since Feb. when I purchased the vehicle. :U
Flush them out with WD-40. Alot of dirt builds up in these switches. I flushed out all of the seat control switches on my 88 coupe and was shockrd at the waste that came out.
