if any of you remembered my concern for my though to be "leaking injectors" starting issue, where it acted like it was flooded, would leave me stranded, smelled of fuel, etc....
well... after I got my new chip from PCMFORLESS, it has never done this again!!!!
I would be afraid to go somewhere if I wasn't going to stay more than a couple hours (for the fuel to evap out of the engine)... but now I have been doing tons of short errands for the past couple of weeks and the problem has not returned!!
.... Interesting... any thoughts or theories on this?
I am glad its gone, but am confused as to why a new tune would stop this... perhaps just coincidence?
new chip won't fix a leaky injector(s) but out of curiosity what parameters were changed? Also did you remove the ECM when you installed the new chip? you may have corrected a bad connection to the ECM.

Yes, I pulled the whole thing out to get the new chip in and made sure everything was seated in good when I shoved it back up under the dash. Why would a loose connection perhaps cause something like that?
I dont know what all was changed. I had the Hypertech in there (ran like absolute crap with all my mods and rebuild), then put my stock chip back in for a few weeks while I saved up to buy the new chip, then started driving it daily again once I got the new pcmforless chip in. I had him tune it for all the mods I had done (bored motor, cam, etc, etc ...basic beefier motor rebuild).
it was just odd that that problem stopped at the same time I put the new chip in. I was going to save up for new injectors (which I plan to eventually do anyway)... but then it stopped happening.
The reason I asked about the removal of the ECM, which you did, and in the process sounds like you made sure everything was clean and tight is...because a bad ECM or poor connections on the ECM can cause a rich condition...or a condition somewhat like you described. Most forum members who replied to a post about "what were your symptoms when your ECM went south" were "IT RAN PIG RICH". Just a thought.
