Actually it was an all AL engine built by Jaguar&Mercury Outboard to his spec's wasn't it?

The engines did not spawn a new breed of custom Corvettes ala Calloway. The engines wound up in cigarette boats.

Behold the ZR12 engine on display at the NCM:

2500-10K rpm usable powerband
While the figures may look good on paper, the end result on the track (if it ever gets there) will probably be less than satisfactory.
All I can say is: what a nightmare that project is gonna' be.

Sounds like a great idea. I'm sure it will be very fast. I have a turbo 4 cylinder station wagon that might give my vette a good run. I never took my wagon to the track yet (just finished project), but a buddy ran a 13.5 in his on a milder setup. Keep in mind, heavier car, 4 cylinder, station wagon.

By the way, that was practice for my turbo vette..
