Just wanted to run something past the collective knowledge here...
I found a great deal on some SSR GT2-H wheels that are 18x9.5 +50mm offset. Good looking wheel, light weight (19.4 lbs), and TireRack.com has them listed at $129 each!
Here's the question - TireRack has them listed for C5s, but not C4s. C4 OEM 17x9.5 have +56mm offset, so +50mm should place the edge of the wheels outboard by roughly 1/4", right? That wouldn't pose a problem with 275/35-18 tires, would it? Anyone have these wheels? Anything I'm missing - maybe brake clearance issues - but wouldn't the lesser offset help? Just trying to figure out why TireRack has them listed for the C5s but not C4s...
If you want to see them, just load up a C5 in the wheel shopper. They also have the same wheel in +55mm offset for $249.
These will work on 89-96 C4's with no problem. Tire Rack stays with factory offsets in it's offering. While a certain wheel/tire combo might fit, because the size and offset is not the same as OEM, it will not be offered.
Which offset did you go with, and how does it fit relative to stock wheels? Thanks!
I have the 18 x 9.5" +50mm offsets up front and 19 x 10.5" +62mm in the rear
I think the fronts stick out a little bit more than the rears. They look fine, but I think the +55mm offset would be just right. I plan on trying out some 5mm spacers on the rears.
