So yesterday I went into a gas station bought some junk food and came out to find my car wouldn't start. The voltage was 12 volts and when I turned the key there was no load on the starter. I rolled it backwards because it was on a hill and popped the clutch and it started and died 3-5 seconds later but the weird thing is the dash and every accessory still worked. It was as though someone turned off the ignition but the battery was fine. The opti is only a year old and is modified to be vented. I rolled it again with someone pushing it with same result started and then died. I came back to the car an hour and a half later and it started fine so I drove it home. I checked the battery cables at the battery and starter and nothing was corroded or loose. It hasn't done it since but does anyone have any suggestions on what this could be? I don't want to get stranded somewhere. It's a 94 by the way. Thanks in advance!
I forgot about the vats and I've never had any issues with it on this car or another one I had. I need to get another key since I only have one anyway. The key didn't get wet at all. After the car locks out the ignition how long does it take for it to work? Is it immediate if it likes the pellet or does it have a timer before you can try again?
