Thought I would run this buy you guys, my 88 starts right now when first start up but turn it off then wait a min. and it cranks for 5 or 6 sec. before it starts. Runs fine after it starts though.
Why?
My thought is one or mutiple fuel injectors my be leaking a little after start up. but just a guess have not pulled any plugs to see if any of them are fauled out.
Any help Thanks
Your guess is probably correct, hard warm starts are usually injector-related.
Hook up a pressure gauge at the rail, crank the car cold, note where the pressure stabilizes. Then turn it off and watch the pressure, it should hold for quite awhile. If it doesnt replace all 8.
Thanks vader I'll try that today If id doesn't hold and need injectors what do you think of the ford match 30 lbs. have heard they ar better then bosh.
