I am trying to track down a hard start problem with my car. I loss fuel pressure right after I turn the key to pressurize the system. I am trying to find the rubber parts of the fuel lines to test them per the tech section on narrowing down the problemhttps://www.corvetteforum.com/techti...=192&TopicID=2. All I find is the metal fuel lines and I can not clamp them off to test if the problem is the fuel pressure regulator or the injectors. Can anyone tell me where I need to look at??
On my 91, there is rubber lines on both the feed, and return, right under the belt tensioner, but they are kind of hard to see. I had similar problems as you, and turned out to be the check valve in the fuel pump. Unfortunately the fuel pump worked fine, but to fix the problem I had to replace the pump.
If it turns out this is your problem, I would recommend an AC/Delco, as I put three aftermarket pumps in, and finally paid the $100 for the AC. Also, if you go that route, replace the vibrational damper above the pump, it looks like a minature master cylinder, these are known to cause problems.
Obviously the first thing to try is what you are attempting according to the FSM, and then go from there......
Remove the gas lid and rubber boot. The top right line is the fuel feed line. The bottom right line is the fuel return line. The left line is the EECS (vapor canister) line. As soon as you pressurize the system pinch off the top right line (vise grips with something on the teeth so you don't damage the rubber line). If the pressure holds the the check valve (in pump)and/or fuel pulsator (above pump) could be bad. If not then pull the vac off the FPR and look for signs of fuel in the line. Also pull some spark plugs and look for signs of fuel injectors leaking.
I'm betting fuel pulsator and can be removed and replaced with a hose.
