Default Diff oil, and other questions

Ok,
My rear end is out so I can install my poly bushing kit. I'm going to drain and clean the rear end and I need to know what fluid to use. Also, is there a gasket available or am I better off sealing it with RTV? It's obviously a pain to get to and I really don't want it leaking.

Second question: Anyone got any good tips/tricks for installing a HyperFlex bushing kit? What to do about lube? Any tips on removing the old bushings?

Lastly: Has anyone used CorvetteCentral's brake overhaul kit? For 250 bucks +your old calipers you get 4 rebuilt calipers, 4 sets of pads, and all 4 new hoses. Almost sounds too good to be true.

That's all for now. I expect to have tons more questions when I start actually reassembling my car.

I would use Mobil 1 synthetic gear lube with the recommended 4oz of GM posi additive as Mobil recommends. I would go with RTV on super clean surfaces. Can not help with the rest.

I've been looking at using Royal Purple this winter when I change out my fluids.

Good choice except use 8oz of additive for the best results.

You may also wish to drill a diff drain hole and tap for a plug. One of our supporting vendors sells a kit with all the required parts. Good time to do this.

I prefer the syn. fluids as well. Personally I use Mobil due to ease of getting local and also I use the additive.
As stated make sure surfaces are very clean. Use brake cleaner to remove all the oil. Use a good rtv sealer and let it dry 24 hrs before putting fluid back in the diff.
To remove the bushings, take a 3/16 drill bit and drill several holes through the rubber bushings. Then push the center steel out and then push the rubber out. Clean up the part and use plenty of the lube on install. I have seen some recomnend the marine grease for reassembly but I just purchased a tube of the silcone to reassemble with. They are not hard to do, they just take time. Good luck.
