Ok guys thats my two cars and I just havnt decided which one I want to do it to but here goes...I have 3,500 bucks to spend on a twin Turbo setup all the materials and it installed... So is this possible with the amount I have? I was really leaning toward TT the Stang, since my vette is a DD.. How much would this Cost me in all for a good Twin Turbo setup with some Nice Numbers
Stick with modding the stang, much better return for your money. Cheaper and easier all the way around. Even for a TT for the stang you will need at least 6K. For the vette double that, unless you are a fab guy yourself.
you're only remotely close solution is to pick up that brand of turbo kit "junk yard twin turbo". That's the only turbo kit I can think of that will come close to your budget. Why not get a used s trim kit for the mustang and have it installed for under budget? I've been to both places and you're not going to get it done on the vette for nearly that price. Maybe 3 times that amount.... if you're lucky. BTW, I have a t trim vortech for sale for fox mustangs. That will give you enough power to split your block with.
well in my stang I have a 408 windsor motor, Edelbrock Victor Jr. Cylinder heads, Headers with turndowns on Flows, Eibach Drag launch springs, Lakewood 50/50 and 90/10 shocks and struts, Lakewood Upper and Lower control arms, 8.8 rear with 3.73's, and Msd 6al box, distributor, hurst Quarter stick shifter what other mods to do?
Vic jr's are pretty good with blowers or nitrous. If you run boost through that thing it'll be an animal. I'd go with a t trim or ys or ysi if you go boosted.
whats your compression ratio on that motor? as for turbo or blower.. I vote turbo.. I am not 100% on ford motors, but if the heads on the windsor are the same as the 5.0, which I think the exhaust ports might be.. you can grab some hot side parts off ebay and then spend a few bucks putting some brand pieces on them.. looks like they have single and twin kits for your motor.. grab a precision T88 turbo if you go single which would be my suggestion to save some money.. this unit with flow all your motor can handle providing your fuel system is up to snuff. graba turbosmart 48mm wategate and a tial 50mm blow off valve and then get it somewhere to tune it all in.. may take some work being done yourself but that would be a pretty reasonably priced way to go on the stang.. I almost considered grabbing on of those Fox bodies and having some fun with it since parts were pretty cheap.
why not get a rear mounted universal turbo kit from sts for 3000? have a muffler shop do the work and you would be boosting and breaking parts in no time. can your vet even handle boost?
if your engine and tranny have a lot of miles, you can bet the the turbo will decrease their life span quicker.
