I have a new long block LT1 rated engine with my automatic 4L60E tranny that was just 100% rebuilt. I had a new waterpump installed, new OptiSpark, New plugs and plug wires, new starter, new Radiator about 3 or 4,000 miles ago. The entire coolant system was flushed through the heater core. I had a new fule filter put in.
This is on a 1995 Corvette auto tranny. The engine has about 370 miles on it now. I stopped at the gas station to run in and buy something, about 3 minutes later I came out to start the car. It started ok but when at idle it ran like I was out of gas. Idle speed was about 2-300 RPMs. Let alone putting the car in Reverse or Drive. Once I get going though, you could swear I had just installed a new engine that was fine tuned.
I checked the plug wires and they all seem to be plugged in well, checked all of the vacuum lines and they are all new.
If you just pumped the gas in it, you may have purchased a watery batch of gas.
I have been running on the same tank of gas and I am down to just above 1/4 of a tank and it ran fine all the way up until tonight. It actually ran like a champ this whole time. I don't see that if the pump is going bad, wouldn't that affect my performance while stepping on the gas?
