Gday people, im currently in the process of doing some tuning on my 94 LT1 after ive put it all back together with all the gasket problems fixed.

Im not sure on the cam specs, but the lift is about .332 exhaust and .324 intake and im using 1.6:1 crane gold roller rockers. (I say "about" cause i only did a quick measurement of the lift with some digital calipers at the lifters while turning the crank over by hand when i had the heads off.)

Exhaust has Tri-Y headers, 1.5" primaries, 2" secondaries, and 2.5" final outputs into a smooth X-pipe, into twin high flow cats, through the twin 2.5" tubes to the Genie straight through mufflers and out.

The heads are also ported quite abit and are stock LT1 heads

Springs are Crane Cams double units with more than enough pressure for alot more than stock rpm (the guy that did my heads for me reckons at least 7,500rpm EASY, and said who ever put them on there mustve wanted to be sure the valves were going to close when they are meant to, also added that they are an exceptional choice in springs)

So what im wondering about is the timing tables, ive added 2* accross the board on the main spark table, and 1* on the extended table. I was told i should add 2* then test, then add 2* then test again, but that sounds like a rather time consuming and inaccurate way to go about it!!!

Can anyone recomend some timing settings for me or the best way for me to find what will work on my engine??

I'm no expert here. I haven't messed with the timing tables except at idle. But the method you describe is what I've seen suggested and it makes a lot of sense if Job1 is "don't blow up the engine."

I'd say doubly so since you don't know your cam specs.
