I finally got the new motor in and running. It is using Trick Flow 420hp. Street Bracket kit w/stock TPI., Sanderson shorty headers. The cam is flat tappet hydraulic 228º/234º duration at .050. Heads are 64cc. chambers 195cc. intake..
I just put the stock chip back in for the break in, was running real rich w the custom racing prom. The timing is currently set at 10º advance. But still seems to be running to rich. There are some white puffs of fuel, and the exhaust tips are black. Seems to me it could be advanced much more. Any ideas? There is about 1K. mi. on it now.. Thanks in advance, Chris

When you call it a "custom racing prom" was it tuned specifically for your combo? If it's an off the shelf forget about it being too close for your specific combo. You've made enough changes that you'll need a prom tuned for your engine. What size injectors?

Ya, it was done in a performance shop on a Mustang Dyno.. it's programmed for racing.. new 24lb. injectors.. It has occured to me that maybe the fuel pressure is to high. It has adjustable regulator. I don't think that has been changed on this motor. One of my mechanic's blew up the other motor playing with it, wasn't watching temp. I know now not to let anyone drive it!!
