Default oil ,air cond comp

I'm going to install an air cond. comp., for an 87 I bought off a forum member. How much oil does it take, thanks Jim.

System capacity is 8 ozs. Unfortunately, you don't know how much is left in it. Since most of the oil remains in the Accumulator (and it's pretty much wasted once exposed to the atmosphere), replace it too. Put 4 ozs in a new one and then flush the compressor by draining out whatever is in it now and adding 4 fresh ounces. Turn the hub a dozen or so times in one direction, then the other, drain and repeat. Put 3 fresh ounces in it. To make sure everything is clean, I'd also pull the orifice, and blow compress air through the Evaporator and clean out the lines with Brake Fluid Cleaner. Spray in the cleaner and with a clean towel on one end, blow air through each line until the fluid runs clean. Put 1 ounce of oil in the Evaporator, put everything back together, pull a vacuum and recharge.
