Thinking of putting nos on the car. Would like a turbo but cant aford it right now. What are you guys running. The motor has around 20k (stock creat motor) on it the trans has around 100 miles on it. All input is a great help. I dont realy like nos but thats something i can hide so the car can still looks stock.
Most guys use a kit from one of the site sponsors or from places like www.summitracing.com.
There are a ton of options on what you can do with nitrous and a million ways to install it. Do you have any specific questions? Here's a write up on nitrous that is pretty decent:
OK well i guess what i was asking is, What kits you guys are using on your L98s and were did you but the switch for the NOS (shifter steering wheel). Just found out that i have some weak lifters so when i do the tear down to replace them i want to do the nos kit. Let me know what you got.
This one has been done to death, that's part of the reason you aren't getting any responses. A quick search for "L98" in the forced induction section yielded all the answers you are looking for:
On my car, I just pieced together a nitrous system out of stuff I had laying around and some parts off E-bay. All you really need is a bottle, some solenoids, WOT switch, arming switch, and a relay. That's enough to make a bare bones kit right there.
I haven't looked at 'kits' in quite awhile. If you've got something in mind, post a link to it and one of us will let you know what we think. Most of the kits out there come with everything you need, and for the modest HP levels your looking at, I don't really think there is too much difference from one kit to the next. NOS, edelbrock, TNT, ZEX, etc...
I bought this barry grant 125hp wet kit part # 13065 from Jegs a couple of years ago for my 90 and have been pleased.
Here it is on the table with my plans.
The kit is the bare essentials. A purge kit, bottle heater and fuel and bottle pressure gauges and a low fuel pressure safety switch have to be added to really spray safely.
Here it is installed.
Here's a direct link to Nitrous Works and the kit for the L98 that I have.
