Default 472 Cubic Inch Small Block Chevy

Some of you will be interested in knowing that there is a pump gas 472 small block that makes 635 horsepower and 630 foot lbs of torque and it is a crate engine. I would have one with an aluminum block...now that would be amazing. Huge power in a lightweight package would put a big smile on my face

Although he drives it to a local cruise night from time to time, it is not very streetable. Runs hard though.

Shortly my car will only be a weekend cruiser, then it will be ok if it runs a little rough, just as long as its makeing some real nice power and is able to cruise around the streets.

Here you go: Dart Tall Deck Iron Eagle 4-Bolt Block with Raised Cam & Splayed Caps, Callies 4340 4.250" Stroke, Eagle 4340 6.125" H-Beam Forged Steel...

They have a high dollar race 472 that makes 950 horsepower on race gas. This is some very cool stuff.

Biggest small block I could find is a 427. Do you have a link to the bigger engines?

I dont know how to find it on the web site but the catologue of theirs that i have has 355's to 622's CI. It looks like the biggest small block is a 496 that puts out 575 hp with alum heads. It doesnt quite specify a whole lot, you would have to call them. If you want the number its 904-783-9393 they are in jacksonville fl. Pretty cool stuff.

I know some company makes a 454 small block. Yes, 454 small block. Not sure on power output, but they dont recommend power adders for obvious reasons.

Seriously, a BBC in a C4 seems like a ton of work only to make the car even more front heavy than it already is. I say buy and resell the big block to fund a rebuild of the small block.

These engines all are set up for carb. Do you think fuel injection would manage on these?
A small block 454 with 600hp sounds nice!

Fuel injection would be great on one of these bigger engines...it just needs to be set up for the required airflow. There are guys running 600 to 750 cubic inch engines with fast and big stuff 3 fuel injection systems.
