I get a SYS light every few seconds on the display of my 1994 C4. My radio is on the blink with the CD not working right and I get a SVC message on it's display.
Could these two things be related? Or is the SYS light probably from something else?
So far, I've been unable to program a remote into the car but the car sees it. Will show the display "Passive Keyless Entry" message when I bring the remote close, but I can't get the car to get into program mode. Any ideas???
The SYS warning usually means a low battery. You can pull the codes using a paperclip in the shape of a U. Insert one end into terminal 4 and the other in terminal 12 on the ALDL under the drivers side dash (94-95 vettes). Turn the key to "on" and jot down the codes displayed where the speedometer read out is. Takes about 5 min tops. Post what you have so myself or others can help.

The dealer I bought the car from told me the battery went dead and he replaced it. I just assumed it was a good battery as it does look newer. If I get the volts required on the dash display, can I assume the battery is good?
Use a voltmeter on the + and - terminals of the battery. See what the voltage is. It should read very close to the dash readout. It is assumed that any voltage below 11.9 volts is a weak battery and needs to be charged. You can disconnect the - side of the battery for ~ 30 sec to clear the stored codes. I would use the paperclip before disconnecting it.
If low...charge the battery and connect it and see what you have.
