I think my TPS Module is causing my problems with an H64 - right O2 sensor lean condition and my ABS/ASR - H72 problem that I've been having with my '92 LT1.
I'm wondering if anyone has ever looked at this part or taken the sealed case apart. For those that have never seen this, it's on the passenger side firewall below the coolant fill tank at the edge of the quarter panel. It's a black box that is about the size of a deck of cards.
In the FSM there is a proceedure for troubleshooting TPS problems by disconnecting the harness. I know this module takes the TPS sensor voltage and passes it on to the EBCM so the ASR will know the throttle position should it need to make adjustments. I did that this morning and my car ran perfectly on my commute to work. Typically I get the H64 and occasionally the H72.
I tried to look up the part number that's on the piece at gmpartsdirect.com but it didn't find it. The part number is 10177912. If anyone has any info on this part I would appreciate the help.
I didn't realise that there was a seperate module from the variable resistor thottle position sensor on the thorttle body. But your analysis is feasable since the TPS feeds its info to several sources. I myself had the variable resistor go out and it played havok with my FI
