Ive read somewhere that you posted about a upgraded ESC module for the L98's.
I changed mine this summer but cant find the box or the receipt with the part number on it.(its a GM part Btw)
I had to change out my original one from 86..it finally died out..anyways the new module has a sticker with the letters
ANZR and # 16126761
Im wondering if this is the same one you have?
I dont have any problems with mine, but just wondering if I got the upgraded module or not.Usually GM upgrades them and list one part number for it but theres no way to know for sure sometimes.
TIA.

That's the same number Jeff Kopp sent me 09/06/01 for my '86 L98 4+3 vert.
Re: Paging 65ZO1,Others about ESC Module Part # (JD 90 383)
Thanks JD and Rich B!!
Im wondering now what makes this module "improved" over the old design.
Either way, im glad its the same one..theres prob. only one part number for my car so its more then likely the upgraded unit.
Re: Paging 65ZO1,Others about ESC Module Part # (65Z01)
The one I now have installed is GM P/N 16038331.I believe someone else on the Forum checked into it and it's not a Corvette P/N but I don't recall where it was used originally.
When you get a chance, can you take a look at the sticker on the module and give me the numbers off there?
The numbers I posted were from the sticker on the module I have now.
Thanks!

Here's a quote from 65Z01's original post, which started the flood of module orders... :D
Once again Gordon Kilebrew comes through. At Carlisle I mentioned to him that I get 3-5
knock counts on WOT runs. He gave me a GM part number for a different ECS module (I
don't remember if he said it was an upgrade or not).
I finally got it from my local Chevy dealer ($70 list, $52 my cost), installed it, hooked up
my AutoXray and just made a WOT run up into 2nd gear. I had as much as 47.2 deg of
timing at 3052 RPM and not one knock count throughout the run! Here is my setup and
conditions:
Base Timing = 8deg advanced
TPS = .65 Vdc, 4.72 = base, WOT
MAT = 82 deg F
Coolant = 164 deg F
My stock ECS is GM P/N 16052401
The new ECS is GM P/N 16038331
I don't know if this "upgrade" works for other L98s but I suspect that if you have the same
stock ECS P/N as mine it would be a fix if you have a false knock count problem.
BTW, I have no clue if this ECS is for a Vette or whatever GM vehicle, but it was fit & form
compatable and looked just like my stock unit.
