I guess I'm leaning away from synthetics. Can you recommend a solid ATF fluid besides the Walmart Tech 2k?
As I mentioned, the tech 2k was what was close. I would not wave the wal-mart flag. I have not see a difference in any of the name brand stuff. In my own car, I run pennzoil. I would not favor any name brand over the other.

As for synthetics, Amsoil has had a very good reputation, with independent oil testers & customers. As for the "best" in non synthetics, a little known company "Lubrication Engineers" has an excellent transmission oil out for a few years now, called "Monolec 7500". It has done very well in Road Race applications, which is the hardest on the transmission oil. This fluid runs cooler, and foams somewhat less, and privides better lubrication than the regular Dexron III. I have seen the results with this oil on tear down, as has some other 700R4/4L60E performance transmission builders. I recommend this oil on all severe duty 700R4/4L60E applications, be it drag racing, road racing, towing, etc. Do some research on this, to verify what I am telling you.
