Automatic Transmission Problem

Help:

I have a '92 vette with auto trans. Recently, when it is placed in park it doesn't lock the wheels. It has rolled out of parking spaces when left in park with out the emergency brake applied. Sometimes it stays in reverse and doesn't gear into park although the shift does lock in.

Any help would be appreciated!

Shifter linkage needs adjustment. It is adjusted at the trans where the cable hooks to the bracket. Loosen the nut and move it a little bit and re tighten.

Maybe you ran over something and bent the bracket.
