OK I'm sold, Meziere HD it is and the old pumps drive shaft will be removed, NEXT.
1. Would it be a good idea to up-grade the Damper, if so witch one?
2. Replace old OEM Opti w/new OEM or Dynaspark (bet i know this one)
3.Timing Chain, Cloyes (yes/no) or another?
4. Any thing else ????
Take off the Opti and just be sure that the bearings feel nice and smooth and there is no play, also open it up and see if there is any corrosion inside. If anything doesn't feel/look nice then I would replace it...afterall you're in the perfect spot for it anyway!
Your LT1 engine is probably externally balanced and believe it or not, the dampner is part of that balancing.
The opti (95) is ventilated and better than the older LT1 opti's. If you have more than 50 K on it, I'd replace it with the OEM and replace the plugs and wires while you're in there. Now if you're building a 7000rpm engine, think about upgrading that OEM opti.

Did you checkout my Tech Tip article on this?
I just reread your article concerning this. I'm not sure how many miles are on mine. I know I have put 40k on it, so I might as well replace it while the bottom is being worked on. So what I'm hearing is that it's OK technology for a daily street romper.
I was already planning on replacing plugs & wires and yes I knew the damper is part of the balancing, I just was wandering if there was something better/worth-wile replacing it with....
How do I know what timeing Chain to choose from??? I hear alot about Cloyes True Double Roller Timing chain, What do you think???
Pluss you got any suggestions on a Cam. I would like to add 100rwhp with some nice low-end torq. Not sure what heads yet but i wont be able to do that for another few months. Still i'm thinking Advanced Induction Trick Flow 210cc LT1 Com Package ????

I would get a camshaft matched to the flow of the heads of your choice. I'm pretty sure AI has a recommended camshaft for those heads.
I checked it out, thanks but in this case I'll stay with the OEM. Only because it's for a 95 with a Mezie HD.... If my vet was an earlier year, then I would switch.....
What was your reasoning......
1. Because you prefer OEM?
2. $$$$$$$
3. Want to wait untill the OEM parts fail ?
Because my oem was good and because of the expense to convert to a 95-96 opti. I used the cloyes chain set but I welded the opti splined shaft into the cam gear to allow me to run the old stile opti with the double roller chain gear. Probably the only setup like this in the world.

If you haven't already purchased an OEM opti, give Dallas at Van Devere Olds a call. When I bought my 95/96 opti Dal beat everyone elses price by $30.
