Default [SWAY BARS]: Help me out here.

Who has the link to the C4 suspension page? I forget completely what size my front and rear '87 Z51 swaybars are, and I need to know. Thanks a million.

Hee, hee... good point, John. I disconnected the links to my front sway bar as an experiment awhile back and whataya know... couldn't tell any difference at all on the street. I can't tell if it helps or not on the dragstrip but I figure it can't hurt. I'm going to go ahead and remove it entirely before I go racing the next time.

Granted, if I was into autox or road racing, it'd be a different story.

Scorp, you have a 30/22mm swaybar setup. Reason being is that in '87 they had a soft front spring and stiff rear spring combination. Being that you are going to go through the effort to lower the car anyway, you may want to consider trying to find an '84 Z51 front spring (102 N/mm) to match up to your 57.2 N/mm rear spring. This combo would be better balanced if you went to a 26mm rear bar to reduce lean. I was going to recommend an'88+ up 93N/mm front spring, but I dont believe that it will fit your spring mounts. I'm not positive if you can retro fit the newer style spring to your front. Maybe Merle at Exotic Muscle, Guldstrand, or Rippie can advise you. (BTW, so as not to get a hailstorm of comments about an '84 front Z51 spring being too stiff, note that it's actually *softer* than an '88-'91 Z51/Z07 spring.)
