just bought fan switch to turn fans on at 200 etc. My question is instruction sheet says not to put anything on the threads of the switch, it has sealant already on them, is this okay to do, or should i put teflon tape also. Switch is going into 88 with aluminum heads. Also are these switches self grounding. Thanks. :flag
I think I used a little anti-sieze, some sealing and a conductor. Yes it grounds through the sensor body, but anyway it's in water (coolant).
BTW, that aux fan sw only turns on the Aux fan. The main fan relay is on the inner left fender well under the master cylinder. It doesn't take much wire to run a splice from one grn/yel to the other to bring both fans on with the aux can sw.
Off the subject....i heard you can take a Radio shack swtich and hook it inline with the temp sensor on the block and then you have ON/Off capabilites at your finger tips?? True/Possible?
Not the temp sensor. All you need to do is hook up a switch from the green/white wire on the fan relay to a groun (car's frame, etc...) and you have on/off at your fingertips.
