I have gotten all the lights on my 1986 C-4 working even the spare tire light but the four clear side marker lights are not getting any power, the red and amber work but the clear ones will not I have checked fuses etc but still no power to the bulbs (yes new bulbs) any adviseplease I know it has to be something easy but overlooked.
If your car is a manual shift, the back-up light switch was bad on mine too. Get it from a dealer. All the napa, pep boys, orielly, and auto zone stores list it, but it doesn't fit. Good luck
There's your answers.
The front, clear side marker lights only come on when the ignition is on and your directional signal is blinking left or right. The clear light goes off as soon as the directional is turned off. If the lights still won't come on for both sides, the connector may be unplugged in the middle of the steering column or you have a bad common ground.
Check the ground by powering a test light and probing the black wire on the socket. If only one side is out, it's a bad wire going to that socket.
