Default What is more beneficial....

What is more beneficial, a high-perf cam, or a ram air system? What if I added 1.6 rocker arms along with the new cam? What about 1.6 rocker arms alone? Are 1.6 roller rockers an option? All of this is for a stock LT1.

On that note, is it difficult to replace the cam/rocker arms/roller rockers in an LT1?

TIA

you can use the 1.6's with a new cam as long as it doesn't exceed the maximum lift for your valve springs. I honestly can't say what that is on a stock LT1 but have heard that even the 1.6's with a stock cam it's usually reccomended to replace the springs

a new cam is better, but youll need some type of better cooling system too, exhaust and intake should be improved to let her breathe

See my sig in the original post. I've got Borla 2 3/4" Cat-back exhaust, and an open lid with a K&N.

Stock LT1 heads cam benefit from a cam change. I have seen 356 RWHP on an LT1 automatic with bolt ons and a cam, no head work at all! This was a pretty agressive cam though.
Of course, this will not be optimal. For the best setup, you will want a camshaft, head, intake, exhaust package to work in conjunction with each other and compliment each other.
If you are going to go with a cam only, you will want new springs for sure. I would also suggest upgrading the studs to 7/16" and getting some Comp Cams Pro Magnum roller rockers. With these rockers, you will also need guideplates and at least hardened pushrods, although I would suggest chromolly pushrods.

Good Luck and let me know if I can help you with anything.
Thanks,
