Default LT1 intake mod

I have been thinking about putting two 2" OD tubes about 3" long (assuming they'll fit) through the throttle body openings in the LT1 intake. The theory behind this mod is that it would tune the intake airflow into the manifold. The length needs to be 1/4 the length of the Superram runners to tune the power band. Any thoughts on this ?

Sorry for the confusion. The LT1 intake has two inlet ports where the throttle body bolts to it. I was thinking about putting two 2" od diameter 3 - 4 inch long copper tubes in the inlet ports. They would be flush at the face of the intake and extend inside the intake itself. The idea is that it would tune the inlet air flow into the intake. This is a test setup.

It occurs to me that the plenum volume of the LT1 intake will probably reduce the effect of this quite a bit so it may not show much effect.

Bad idea. the front two cylinders already have a tendency to run rich. This will just amplift this. The LT1 intake is a very good piece. Don't fix it if it ain't broke.

Craziness I say. When in doubt, "PORT IT OUT". Get in there with the dremel and smooth out all of that rough casting flash and grind out and thin the walls between the runners (not effecting the port match to the heads). That's about all I'd do and that's all I did.

Your probably right. Front cylinders are too rich. Hmmm.... Maybe that fuel trim table parameters might need a little tweaking. I am bit surprised by maybe wot values are different than cruise. No table for WOT.
