I bought some material on ebay that looks a lot like the original stuff. I have a bunch left ( I found some new sheilds and didn't end up using the material) if you want to make your own PM me with a mailing address and I'll send you some to try.

Thanks!! I have looked at Mid America and Ecklers. I was thinking about making my own. PM sent.
Same material as used to cover the EGR pipes on earlier models, like my 1991. Depending on how much you need, you could buy a couple of these, and cut to fit.
Not enough material and these are thicker because they are right next to the exhaust. I am looking at modding a couple of starter shields. Do LT-1s have these too?
No problem. I don't know if this will work looking at your photos. My LT1 with LT headers, the exhaust runs no where near the mounts. So I wasn't real worried about very high temps. Before you spend a lot of time wraping and stapling this material, try baking some in the oven and see how it holds up.
Put some Jet-Hot coated long tubes on it. You won't need all those heat shields anymore.
Considered that, but it is a CE and I want to keep the stock manifolds for a while. Stainless Works headers may be in the future. Just like GM to abandon C4 parts.
Thought you might like to see the after. I removed the mounts and dissasembled the stock shields. They are made of a woven fabric covered with a type of foil. I scraped off the failing foil and glued on a layer of the material that scranage kindly sent to me. I then wired them back together.
I am pleased with the outcome. Thanks again, scranage.
