Electrical Help.... PLease
1. Are there any capacitors in the electrical system of a 1990?
2. I am experiencing an unusual problem where..when I press on the brake at 39 mph and above I hear a click sound through my radio, and sometimes it will either activate my climate control system or sometimes it will freeze preventing me from changing it. I believe there may be 3 systems involved in this problem. The braking system, the radio system and a speed sensing system. How many circuits monitor the speed of a car? What system monitors the speed of the car. It never happens when I am 38 mph or slower. Also, after the car has sat overnight the first few times I press the brake above 39 there is no audible click. That is why I ask about a capacitor. There may not be any, or I may be all wet, however there is defenitely a problem. I will take any and all suggestions you have to offer.
2. You must have one heck of a stoplamp current or your wires got rearranged because the click in your radio with brake applied shouldn't happen due to a filter on the 12v line in the radio (also keeps out alternator whine). The sudden current flow upon braking is apparently also getting into climate and speed sensing circuits. This could be possible if the ground path for the stoplamps is interrupted and the lamp ground current is now shared with a ground common to the climate and speed and radio circuits. Its going to take some investigation to find this problem. Wish I could be more specific.
