I have recently purchased 2 C4 corvettes (87 and 84) and happen to need 4 rear wheel hub bearing assemblies! I am trying to come up with the best cost effective solution as I would rather not pay the $600 out on 4 of them, which best pricing I can find so far. Searching the threads I see that an alternative part number has been posted which fits chevy S10s and the front of some other pre-85 GM vehicles. The measurements from the manufacturer are extremely close and I can't find any reason they wouldn't work. I could cut my cost in HALF if they do. Anyone try it yet? The part number in question is 513013.
If you do a search here, I think you will find info that others have found while investigating this before.
Good luck!
I have read every thread I can find in relation to rear hubs but cannot find any posts of someone actually stating they tried them and they worked or did not work. I'm sure someone will chime in here...
Still no verification of fit.. That was actually the thread that got me started on this. Forum member "dan6712cc" had posted that he had actually purchased the 513013 assemblies, but never gave any reassurance that they fit on the car. In another thread someone had said that his Timken brand hub assemblies actually had the 513013 AND 513020 numbers stamped in the casting on the same part. Everything is pointing to them being a legit alternative but I'm sure anyone can understand not wanting to waste over $300 on parts I can't use on the car, not to mention the down time involved in waiting for ordered parts....
Bought them for my 84, just replaced the right side and will be doing the left side also. The 513013 fit just like to old one.

I'm sick of the stock hubs as well. They're expensive, not designed well, and they don't last. Not something you want at a high-speed event let alone the street.
I'm engineering a complete redesign using replacable NASCAR quality bearings. I should have the prototypes ready to go fairly soon.
I like that idea. We raced Sprint cars for 6 years, I used the angular roller bearings and they held up well under those extreme conditions. The next time I will certainly look for them.
