Default Rear Upper and Lower Control Rod Bushing Replacement

I plan on purchasing/installing the Rear Rebuid kit from PST. I've reviewed the procedure in 101 Projects, Helms and my service manual. Does not appear to be that difficult. The only question that I have is that the service manual says to "hold the suspension at the proper trim height when tightening contol rod nuts. Do not allow suspension to move below rebound." How do I measure the trim height with the car on jackstands ?

thanks, 92PGC

You could measure from the axle centerline to the fenderlip, then put the rear on jackstands, support the spring ends and remove the bolts. Now you can use your floor jack to raise the suspension back to the same measurement.

But personally, I don't think it's critical at all. The lower camber "strut" rods are the only ones I had trouble with that wouldn't fit at full droop.

I just did the bushing replacement on my car. I did mine on jackstands. All i did was mark the adjusting bolt with a file so i could get it close to what it was before rebuild. I plan on going and getting 4 wheel alignment as soon asi get the front done anyway.
