I have been having an ongoing problem with an O2 sensor on the right bank position one. Codes P0157 and P0154. I checked for VAC leaks and exhaulst leaks to eliminate that possibility. I have replaced the sensor twice, first with a Bosche sensor and more recently with a OEM dealer sensor. At first the problem was an on again, off again issue with the SES and some rough idle. Now it is constant.
I have two questions:
1. I see there are O2 Sims for the post CAT sensor. Do they make one for pre CAT. I want to test to see if there may be a short between the sensor and the ECM.
2. I know the post CAT sensor monitors the state of the converter. It appears to be acting fine. No codes. I know this sounds nutts or stupid but can a problem with a CAT cause issues on the front sensor.

No.

To test if it is the sensor or wiring, you can swap the sensors from left to right and see if the code follows the sensor. Since you already replaced it twice, that seems to suggest it isn't the sensor itself.

Not very likely.
Have you followed the diagnostic procedures in the service manual for P0154 and P0157?
Are you sure that 0154 and 0157 are for the same O2 sensor? I only have 0154 in my service manual, and it is for bank 2 #1. Looking up 0157 online, it appears to be for bank2 #2.
Sorry. My mistake. The P0157 was for the post Cat which I already replaced. Since replacement it has not caused a problem. What I meant to type was P0151.
Yes. I know. It has been driving me insane and at this poiint short of taking it to Corvettes of Houston or a dealership and dumping a ton of money for them to throw parts at it (which if you include my time and parts thus far I already have), I am reaching for straws.
I was just looking at a SIM as a potential way to eliminate the possibility that there may be a short in the harness or that the replacement(s) O2 were faulty which I doubt.
Regarding the codes. Yes I have cleared them several times. Actually I have become quire proficient at doing so. I just seems to set either code at random. It even threw a P0174 once.
