Default Big brake caliper differences: size/stiffness?

What's the facts relating to the later C4 big brake calipers? Other than the CORVETTE lettering on the side, is the Grand Sport caliper different structurally than the earlier calipers used with the 13" rotors? I'm in a real squeeze room-wise, so it's looking like I have to stick with floating calipers rather than fixed, four piston calipers. I appreciate any useful information.
thanks,
Mike

Maybe this will help:

From what I gather, the GS flavor of J55 caliper is supposed to be a little more stiff than the plain one. I would be surprised if the difference is much more than negligible, and I made the swap purely for looks when a used pair came up for sale here.

JRP,

Thanks for the info. There were quite a few detail differences I wasn't aware of.
